Drawings of the Med is a growing collection of hand-drawn, digital works and paintings, shaped by the colours, food and slower pace of Mediterranean holidays and British summers by the sea. The collection reflects on the everyday moments that make a place feel warm, nostalgic and deeply familiar, the kind of memories that quietly stay with us for years.
Hilltop towns, Italian tomatoes, seaside suppers, striped parasols, swimwear and coastal landscapes appear throughout the works, drawn from life, photographs and memory. Some are observed in the moment, while others are recalled later through colour, form and feeling.
The Process
✩ Working across crayon, pastel, gouache, acrylic and digital drawing tools, the collection moves between loose line work, painted studies and simple illustrations, allowing drawing to become a way of holding onto places, seasons and passing moments.

Mila May is an artist living and working by the sea in Falmouth, Cornwall. With a degree in Printed Textile Design from Falmouth University, her practice sits somewhere between painting and printmaking, working across crayon, pastel, relief ink, gouache, acrylic and digital drawing tools.
Her collection's move between loose line work, painted studies and simple forms, allowing drawing to become a way of holding onto places, seasons and passing moments.
